A Simpler, Smarter Way to Improve Claudication
If you live with claudication, you already know how limiting leg pain can be. The good news is that structured walking exercise is the most effective treatment for improving symptoms — when it’s done properly and consistently.
We have developed a personalised exercise prescription designed specifically for people with peripheral arterial disease. Instead of vague advice like “try to walk more,” this approach gives you a clear, structured walking plan that matches your current ability and helps you progress safely over time.
To make this easier to follow day to day, We created the PAD Walking App. The app helps you record your walks, note when pain starts, and see your progress as you build strength and confidence. It’s simple to use and designed around how people with claudication actually walk and feel.
This programme was created by Chris Davies, working with the South West Wales Vascular and Endovascular Network (SWAVES), to turn strong clinical evidence into something practical, achievable, and sustainable for you.
The aim is straightforward: to help you walk further, with less pain, and more confidence — step by step.
